Shequelle Foster-Gims has had the privilege of serving children for over 17 years. She recently completed her sixth year of serving as a Principal and Assistant Principal. Prior to serving in a principal role, Shequelle worked for two years as the Director of Operations at KIPP 3D Academy, and 6 years as a teacher. After graduating from DeBakey High School for Health Professions, she attended Southern University, and the University of Houston to obtain her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Since completing graduate school, she has presented to fellow school leaders at the annual TEPSA Conference, was selected to participate in the Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program at Harvard School of Education, and served as a University of Houston Department of Urban Education Executive Advisory Committee Member. When Shequelle is not working or learning, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Shequelle is returning to the KIPP Family to serve as the School Leader of KIPP Spirit in Houston. She is excited about rejoining the movement, and is determined to make sure that the children of Sunnyside Texas are equipped with the academic skills and character traits they need to go to and through college.
