School Leader, KIPP CONNECT Middle
Pegah Javidpour Taylor is the Founding School Leader of a KIPP CONNECT Houston Middle School near the Gulfton/Sharpstown area of Houston, TX. Her parents immigrated to Houston and landed in the Gulfton/Sharpstown area – where Pegah was born and raised. Knowing that she has come full circle to give back to the community where her parents were able to fulfill their American dream fuels her each day. Pegah believes that all students in this world deserve an excellent education, and she has made her life’s work to try to end the injustice that is hindering that education. Before founding KIPP CONNECT MS, Pegah was the Assistant Principal at KIPP Academy Middle School, where she started as Teach For America Corps Member teaching 8th grade Math and Algebra. In addition to being the Assistant Principal, Pegah also served as the Math Department Chair, Testing Coordinator, and taught one section of 8th grade science in her final year at the school. Pegah received a dual BBA in Business Honors and Management Information Systems from The University of Texas at Austin. She also completed her Masters in Education from the National-Louis University with a concentration in Administration and Supervision. Outside of education, Pegah enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, traveling, staying in shape through yoga or half-marathons, and drinking hot chocolate.
