Ken Goeddeke is a Head of Schools for KIPP Houston Public Schools. Ken has been with KIPP Houston Public Schools since February 2010. In this role, he manages, develops, and supports several School Leaders in the KIPP Houston Public Schools' region and supports Feeder Pattern alignment. Ken also supports District Partnerships, including serving as a Steering Committee Member of the SKY (Spring Branch-KIPP-YES Prep) Partnership. Ken began his teaching career in 1993 in the Houston Independent School District, where he became a Title I Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. In 2002, he accepted a Principal position with a small charter school system (Southwest Schools) in Houston, where he was eventually promoted to Chief Academic and Operations Officer. Ken is passionate about providing high-quality education to children in underserved communities, is a Houston Annenberg Challenge New Visions Leadership Academy Fellow, and has served as a Houston A+ Challenge Leadership Coach. He is also an American Leadership Forum Fellow and serves as a Field Advisor for the Rice University Entrepreneur in Education Program (REEP). Ken received his B Ed in history from Central Michigan University and M Ed from the University of Houston.
- Ken is an avid Houston Texans fan (despite the torture that this sometimes presents) and is a charter season ticket holder.
