A TEACHER'S PERSPECTIVE

KIPP Academy Middle School is the original KIPP middle school founded in Houston. Its roots go back to 1994, when Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin first began KIPP in Garcia Elementary in Houston, Texas. As the founding school, KIPP Academy Middle School tries to stay true to KIPP's two basic rules: be nice and work hard. 

KIPP SHINE Prep, KIPP’s first early childhood and elementary school, was founded in 2004. We are a dual-language school currently serving 800 students in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 4th grade. KIPP SHINE Prep’s mission is to nurture and strengthen our students’ creativity, knowledge, character, and thinking skills preparing them to excel academically, physically, socially, and spiritually in the nation’s finest schools, colleges, and in life.
