KIPP is a free, public charter school. The annual open lottery sign-up for new KIPP students for the 2012-2013 school year will occur this year from November 1 to January 31 on campuses across Houston. www.kipphouston.org/schools 

To enter your child into the lottery, you must come into the KIPP school in which you wish to enroll him or her between November 1 and January 31 (closed for winter holiday from Saturday, December 17 through Tuesday, January 3).

Schools with more lottery forms turned in during the lottery period than seats available will go to lottery.  Schools with fewer lottery forms turned in than spots available will take all students that have turned in lottery forms and continue to enroll students until full. 

Each school serves a specified priority ZIP code list. Parents can sign up for schools outside their priority zone school, but must note that KIPP Houston cannot provide transportation if their child is picked in the lottery.

New students are picked at random through a lottery process that takes place in March of each year. Students who are not picked in the lottery go on a waitlist and will be called if a spot becomes available.
