School Leader, KIPP CONNECT High School
Geoffrey Roy is the Founding School Leader of KIPP CONNECT High School, KIPP Houston’s fifth high school where 160 freshmen are beginning their journey to and through college. Before becoming a Fisher Fellow in preparation for the opening of KCHS, Geoffrey served as an assistant principal at KIPP Houston High School for two years, including leadership of the math department and the Freshman Academy. During the 2016-17 school year, he also participated in KIPP School Leadership Programs as a Miles Family Fellow. Geoffrey began his teaching career in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a 2005 Teach For America corps member. He later joined the TFA-Houston team as an MTLD – a role in which he had the chance to coach many KIPP teachers. He subsequently launched the region’s STEM director role, overseeing the training and development of nearly 100 secondary math and science teachers each year. Geoffrey earned his B.A. in history from Boston College and his M.Ed. in curriculum & instruction from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, in addition to completing post-baccalaureate studies at Georgetown University.
- Geoffrey has an extensive cookbook collection and is constantly tinkering with cookie recipes.
- Geoffrey spent his junior year of college in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
- Geoffrey watches Jeopardy! daily and plans to become a champion one day.
