School Leader, KIPP Explore Academy
Amy Stabile is a former assistant principal and current school leader at KIPP Explore Academy. She began teaching as a Teach for America Corps member at Garcia Elementary in Houston ISD. In 2012, Amy moved to KIPP Explore as a founding prekindergarten teacher. Amy then moved into a dean of instruction role where she managed the kindergarten and first-grade teams as well as the implementation of a school-wide data system. Amy currently manages prekindergarten and kindergarten where her teams are working on balancing academic rigor with developmentally appropriate practices. Amy earned her B.A. in history and human development from Boston College and her M.B.A. from Rice University as a member of the Rice Educational Entrepreneurship Program. Outside of school, Amy can be found coaching synchronized skating with Unity Synchronized Skating Teams.
- Amy grew up outside of Boston, MA with her two brothers and sister.
- Amy was a synchronized skater growing up and currently coaches a synchronized skating team in Sugarland.
- Amy’s favorite holiday tradition is baking Christmas cookies with her grandma and her family.
