KIPP does not “enroll” or “register” students like traditional public schools. You must submit a KIPP interest/lottery form to your zoned school (based on your zip code) or school of your choice (when the zip code is not listed).

Between November 1, 2011 and January 31, 2012, KIPP schools will accept student lottery forms. All of these forms will be placed into a lottery. If the number of students interested in a KIPP school exceeds the number of seats available for that grade, names will be drawn on March 1 and families will be notified. Beginning February 1, names submitted will be added to the grade levels based on availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

In some schools, grade levels are not full and all of the students in entry grades (often grade 5, PreK3, or K) will be “in”.  You may contact the school to which your child is priority zoned by zip code to understand where the school is in the lottery process and in which grades the schools are able to accept for the new school year.

Students receive preference in the following order:

1. Alumni’s children and KIPP siblings who live in school’s ZIP zone or are not zoned to another KIPP school and all faculty children

2. All children who live in campus ZIP zones

3. Alumni’s children and KIPP siblings who are zoned to another KIPP school that could serve the child’s grade level

4. All children who live out of ZIP zones
