KIPP Intrepid
KIPP Intrepid Preparatory School, located near I-45 South and Telephone Road in Houston’s East End, is one of the neighborhood’s newest educational treasures. Founded in 2008, the school serves nearly 400 5th-8th grade middle school students who are all focused on the goal of “going to and through college.” Students at KIPP Intrepid learn valuable academic lessons in math, English, social studies, and science, in addition to enrichment courses such as art, music, dance, health, and Spanish. Students are also schooled in character, where they focus on the Elite 8. The Elite 8 are character strengths to live by: gratitude, grit, hope, humor, love, social intelligence, self-control, and zest.
KIPPsters also enjoy many experiences on- and off-campus with highly-dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff who model “no excuses” and “Work Hard. Be Nice.” Through working hard and being nice daily, students set set their sights on success and college. KIPP Intrepid Preparatory School provides a well-rounded experience and college-preparatory curriculum for all students.
