In the fall, KIPP Sunnyside High School students won a $7,500 Lemelson-MIT grant to solve this pothole problem. KIPP Sunnyside High School was the only Texas school to win this award.
KIPP Sunnyside High School students have been working on a pothole solution that would help speed up the process. The students presented their automated pothole remediation device and solution to City Council, and city engineers and Mayor Turner signed a proclamation for March 29, 2016 to be the KIPP Sunnyside InvenTeam Day. He then visited them at school to see and test their work. ABC-13 and KPRC-2 showcased this special visit and the progress of our students.
